Here is the lady who is taking phone entries: Angie sutton 865-414-8935. entry fee is $1 per bird and there is a clean up fee of $1 per exhibitor, entry deadline is Monday July 24. All together my family is bringing about 20 something birds total. If you have not been to this one I would advise anyone who has birds who easily get hot to bring a small fan to put on top of their cage, I did this last year with a couple of my birds without any problem, and electrolyte water helps too.

to late about the crowing parakeet, though think its the cockatiel or one of the love birds, but the budgies have picked up the cooing of the pigions and doves (i really need to get on and help with building this pigeon coop on my balcony, but need to finish cleaning and re arranging, and dreading having to drain the pond and move it somewhere else).

Well we have one who does cell phone rings, sirens, baby chick peeps and has me running to the incubator in the middle of the night to see if something hatched then laughs, one says hello when the phone rings, they do all kinds of stuff. But the day that when our hans macaw was out on top of his cage and grabbed his food dish then flew over one of the cats and dropped it on it that beat it all, the cats are terrified of the two bigger birds.

Both places usually have really good shows.

Selling alot of PAIRS of Delawares. I will have to go count exactly how many. We lost 6 to a preditor (dog or human) yesterday so I'm no longer sure how many I have. But I know I have AT LEAST 4 or 5 pairs still. They are all Will Morrow line... whitmorefarm.com

Also have some other birds... BB Red OEGB roo, Bantam White Wyandotte cockerel, a flock of "cracker jacks" (2 pullets, 2 hen, one roo), ... oh plenty of others

Oh, and hatching to sell stright run BRs in 3 weeks.

I rather find BYC homes for them, than anything else and will price better through BYC because of it.... so PM me.

got another incubator today, and another pen, both really cheap but in perfect shape which im super happy about. gotta scrub them down and get everything working, which is great because Ive already got hatching eggs coming next week, 18+, and already paid for a bird Ive got to go pick up next month at the carolina chickenstock.

Well I think a Hawk made off with my white leghorn hen on Friday night. When I got home from work, I let them out to free range in the backyard. Later went out to make sure they were going in for the night. Done my count and noticed one was gone. I went and got a flashlight to shine in the trees and couldn't find her. I then called a neighbor to see if she or her kids had see a chicken on the loose. She said no and that she would come out and help me look. We were all over the neighbor hood looking. I was afraid someone would call the cops. So I called my husband who was on duty and let him know what we were doing if a call came in. He ended up coming home to help me look. We ended our search a hour larter. After my husband found a bunch of feathers in the "woods" part of the backyard (found it in like 5 mins). We knew then it had to been a hawk. Im upset! This is the first one i've lost. I now think my other leghorn in a roo. My husband said he never could keep a white chicken, years ago when he had them. So now I am on the hunt for a white egg layer. That is not white. All I can think about is that poor hen and I wasn't there to help her.

when i had white leghorns, and mexican game hens and the sumatra cockerel, the only thing the animals were trouble with was the leghorn hens. get more white hens, and cross under brown roo or game roo for color or hardiness, as baby hens should still produce the large white eggs for couple more generations a day, my pure games, give med to large eggs a day, but not jumbos, but the hens are small.

I have some young pullets if you would want them, alot cheaper than adult hens, not full blooded leghorn though.
