I love it here. Good schools and great neighbors. My next door neighbor asked me to cut a hole on the fence between our property so the birds could free range over there and they'd get to enjoy them too.

I'd say that property prices are more reasonable than normal since nothing is moving right now.

I didn't know you were a Norsonian

... my son goes to school at NES. They do have really good schools. The commons are also a cool concept for a town, I think you would be hard pressed to find a town with as high a % of greenspace that's open to the public as Norris. If I ever absolutely HAD to live in a town I think Norris would be my first choice.

Small world, isn't it? We'll have to introduce ourselves at the next PTO meeting.

On facebook says an assortment, which always means hatchery choice

they're giving 3 chances to win.. the only thing I didn't like was giving them my info, if it were through their site instead of FB it would have made me feel better, but their agreement said the info was only for the purpose of the contest... so I filled it out, can't beat free sexed chicks!

ETA: I re-read it, you have the choice of 3-25 chicks... but not the choice of what chicks you get...

That's the way I read it, too. I entered thinking that if I asked for 25 there was a chance that one of them would be a Maran. Finding homes for the other girl chicks wouldn't be too hard, would it?

All of my coworkers were holding her and oohing and aahing over her. One looked at me for a few seconds and then jumped.....she didn't realize it wasn't a stuffed animal at first.

She is just too, too cute. I can see how you got hooked. My son's asking for the black one. I told him I needed to learn enough about bunnies to keep this one alive before we started adding more.

I just finished the last of my Christmas shopping so now I have time to research bunnies. Like, are they social? How much space per critter do you need? What are do's and don'ts for treats? How do I know if they're sick? Where is my Backyard Bunnies?!?!?!

Nope, I'll take any of them you don't want!

I entered in hopes of just getting more baby chicks! hehe If I win, and end up with Maran chicks you are more than welcome to have them

On another note, got me a BLRW rooster, traded this nice couple an EE pullet for him... I dunno if he's hatchery, but he sure is pretty... got him in a rabbit cage right now in my coop... he looks like the black variety, but almost looked like a really dark blue in the night.. will know more when I get a good look at him tomorrow... can't wait to get BLRW babies!

Bunnies are social, but you've got to remember... each bunny has it's own personality! Perfect example: I'm raising mini lops, and have bought 2 bucks from my friend- she handles all babies daily... the first one was a pointed white, he's the sweetest most loving little guy I've ever seen... my 6 year old cousin was able to pick him up several times and move him in new places and he never offered to kick once, or move even.. put him in someones lap and he won't move at all while he's being loved on... On the other hand I got a little black g/t steel from her as well, place him anywhere and he immidiately starts looking for something to do! Chew on this, try to get away... lol won't let you pose him either! little stinker he is! I know you can't feed them cabbage, shouldn't give them lettuce either if I'm remembering correctly, theres a list of ok treats... hay is a very important part of their diet! Without it can cause blockages, which can lead to death (trust me, I have first hand experience) a good thing to have on hand is pineapple juice (breaks up hair blockages if they occur) and I keep castor oil (oil laxitave) my friend keeps gas-x. You'll know they're sick when they stop eating/drinking. oh, space for a lionhead... you shouldn't need a very large cage, I can keep a small mini lop buck or a doe that's not bred in a 24x24. It's not like you won't be taking it out and playing with it all the time..
