What are you planning on ordering? I'll probably have some 1-8 week hybrid chicks at the spring show in Cocke county (Newport). Since I cant separate my Delaware breeders right now due to other projects I will have some that are a Delaware Rooster over NHR, Gold Laced Wyan, Cochin, or Delaware hens. Straight run 2.00 per. I may also have some one year old reds and Gold laced hens available.

Hey everyone! Just about to start my chicken adventure!

I was thinking of ordering from Murray McMurray, but minimum order is 25

i only wanted about 10 for starting off. Anyone want to split an order??? I am an hour from Knoxville and 1.5 hrs from Chattanooga, in Rhea County. I wouldn't mind traveling to meet up if anyone is interested in splitting :) Thanks!!!!

OK, this stuff happens to me all the time. If anyone is interested, eggcartons.com now has the nesting boxes on sale for 75% off. (Yes, when I bought them they were only 50% off). The four hole boxes are only $25 plus shipping.

One of the sets I bought was missing brackets for the perch but when I called the company they shipped them out to me the same day.

I LOVE mine. They seem so much neater and cleaner than the wooden ones I built. Plus, we installed them so that the back is open to the foyer area of the coop and put a hinged door on it. Now I don't have to wade through shaving to gather eggs.

I'm glad to see you're interested in getting some leghorns, but I've only got the one and she is my best layer... (and her eggs are growing in size finally) Funny thing about leghorns, if you go to the feed stores they're always the last ones left, but I find they're small size and the crazy egg laying capabilities are a great package. I think if I can find a rooster for decent price (and close by) I'll try to incubate me some chicks! I could go ahead and see what a BLRW and Leghorn makes

@ Stang (or anyone I guess) I want to go ahead with one or two leghorns or other reliable white layer without a need for prozac and 5 months to a year old.

Trade?? 11 month old Gold laced or Reds?

OK, that really stinks for you guys, but it kind of makes me feel better. I didn't pay that much shipping, so maybe I didn't get rooked as bad as I thought. I actually had DH call them to see if we could get a refund on the price difference, but they told him, "no". And I STILL don't have my Oxine!!!

He's doing a scout trip with DS this weekend. When he gets back I'll ask him about those boxes again.
