I went with this one for 2 reasons. It's .50 per hatched chick not egg and he keeps a web cam up all the time. The drive isn't bad. I'm still looking for black or blue copper maran in my area!

@chickie, if id known you had a lone ringneck dove, id have given you mine i had, for it. there is a woman who sells for five dollars each, but the asian guy will cut deals and sadly could be swindled as cannot count well, but has some decent show birds, but other times just seems to have auction birds, though all around decent guy. i havent gotten a roller yet that rolls really, but maybe im over feeding and not letting their glucose get low enough then spooking up to get desired "rolling" siezure results (been looking for a pro who keeps them to talk and ask about before, but no luck in immediate area), but got from him as rollers some great flying flights the two hens are laying in synque together finally, hopefully the one male not tested yet being able to fertilize the already proven hen. my homers hopefully will be hatching a pair of squeakers soon, and my mixed performer apparent hen with her roller bf just laid another egg, as there babies are about a couple weeks old i guess. my feather footed monk hooded roller male and my white ash capuchine hen, have a pair of huge eggs in the nest also, and trying again to get eggs from my oriental roller/fantail maybe pair (her first two eggs were odd one being perfectly round and other snake egg oblong, and only oblong one showing fertility that i noticed before developement, so tossed them to dog).

I found something else that may be helpful for anyone else that's battling fleas while looking for some mantis eggs to order for my veggies. Beneficial nematodes, I may just get some of these this year and give them a try, they have really good reviews and are supposed to kill over 200 species of pests. I wonder if they might just take care of my harlequin bugs, it's worth trying.

Careful everyone, secure your coops, I just got a tornado watch alert for Blount, Carter, Cocke, Greene, Hamblin, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Monroe, Polk, Sevier, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington county. It's in effect until 4pm
Even without a tornado it's windy as it can be, My silkies don't have poofs anymore, they look like they have combovers now.

Ive been reading cfm farms stuff for a while now....He is no Dummy, for certain. That last test hatch for the small incubator I did, I actually followed his advice on egg washing. Out of 9 fertile I had 7 hatch. Not any better but not any worse either than what im used to...especially since it was a 1st hatch in a new bator. I also used his wiring diagram where he plugs in the 12 volt for the fans into the end of the cord at the back instead of another outlet.

Just put a deposit down on Black and blue copper Marans! I found a breeder not too far away.20 chicks $108 seems fair to me. Cheaper than the online places. Guess I'll be keeping LaMar till next fall. So here is a question for ya'll. How many eggs can I stuff under a Buff Orphangton? Do I have to move her to her own area. Right now she is in the main coop in one of 6 boxes. I have a chicken tractor we made some years ago. It's sturdy but not insulated. I would rather her be in the large insulated coop. It is much safer and off the ground. I sold 13 hens this week so I only have 12 left. The coop can hold around 40 and still be room. This is my first broody hen and the first time to try to hatch my own. This is the coop as it was being built with the chicken tractor in the front. We use it as a halfway house for chicks
