Anyone going to the dalton chicken show next weekend? Planning on going to sell cages, incubators, feeders/waters, nestboxes, etc.

Plus the one last trio of New Hamps!

talked to my friend at church, and she said if anyone was looking to rehome hens, hopefully layers prefered, she would take them and care for but let them forage free also during day. she was one mentioned who feeds the two expensive types of feed and a layer food, and plenty of treats.

Wow... a lot of catching up to do.

@tnbarnqueen... Harley is really sick and we are not sure what is going on. Right now he is dehydrated from it coming out of both ends and so he may be going to the vet tomorrow AM for IV fluids if I cant get him to improve tonight. I'll be up with him all night. Im afraid the first Monday sell will have to wait till next time.

@ stang... will do, thanks for collecting contacts in that regards

@ Nella... What cages are you taking to sell at Dalton??

@ Everyone.... We are def. still planning the get together picnic. Tnbarnqueen is working on the exact date and location as may be dictated by reservations already in place. I believe she may have more information tomorrow for us all and we will get it put in stone

It is 5 ft long, 2 feet deep and 2 feet tall. 4 holes. Asking $50.
Also have a similar cage. 2 feet square and either 16 or 18 inches tall. 2 holes. Asking $20
Also have a similar cage, 2 feet square and shorter....14 inches tall I think. 4 holes (each 1 foot square) perfect for sale display of single bantam adults or small bantam pairs. Asking $20

Also have a wooden show box. Brand new. 3 hole. NICE box. Perfect for bantam cochins or d'uccles. Never been used, been sitting in my laundry room since purchased. $30

Have 2 little giant still air incubators. The ones you get at Tractor supply for $45 each. One needs a screw replaced on heat element (it came out so it sags) should be easy to fix. Both have been used and work fine. $25 for regular one and $20 for one missing screw.

Have a six hole wooden nestbox unit. Can provide pix. Well used, works good. Each hole is 14x14 I think $25

Some 1 gallon waterers. Mostly hanging ones. $3 each or $2.50 if buying multiples.
Assorted chick feeders and waterers. Will have to go through and look at them to price.
hanging feeders. Will update on pricing and lbs tonight. 2 available.

1 trio of new hamps. 2 100% german pullets. German/American cockerel. $150/trio. Less than 1 year old. Both girls are laying. Cockerel was shown once and did very well (reserve of breed out of 14 birds)

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Anything not sold before this weekend will be at dalton show, assuming weather is decent.

I def want both 2 sq./ft. cages.... I need at least one more waterer for in the run, and let me know what "hanging" feeders you have please. We can figure out how to get together later...but I can paypal the money up to you as soon as I get a transfer to that account from my other account.

I'd like the incubator missing the screw! Hubby is good at finding replacement stuff.

So, had an interesting day. Today is my birthday, I turned 24! I woke up to a box full of chicks madly peeping, apparently the bulb wasn't in the socket well enough and turned off (I think it's the socket and not the bulbs because my neighbor took care of them while I was gone and the other bulb had "gone out" and I lost a baby BLRW) and I lost another BLRW this AM. Well, stupid as I am sometimes, I went to open the brooder and the bulb came back on. I didn't think anything about it and went to do some stuff came back and it was off again, so I wiggled it til it came on and went to walk away when I thought about needing to tighten the bulb. Well it was hot to the touch at the big bulb part, so just like an idiot I used my jacket sleeve to shield my fingers, WELL... it didn't work, not only did it melt my jacket sleeve I burned the tip of my thumb, and have no feeling in it now.

Oh well! I did get some photos of my new arrivals though!

Bairo, heres the creme d'argent buck.

Here's the mini rex:

@ stanglover2001
Happy birthday and I'm sorry for your bad day. That's something that keeps me awake at night, the fear of losing a heatbulb with the babies in the brooder. I check every few hours if it's still on. I can't wait until they get a bit bigger and are not so fragile. Your bunnies are very cute. I have 1 mini rex myself, debating if I should get a male and breed her, but she is such an odd color, I guess a mismarked magpie.
