Sounds good! Maybe try new hampshires on the deleware? I've had a new hampshire rooster, he grew the fastest! I've never had deleware besides the one I bought from bairo... also, when you say feed one FF you mean one group right? Because only having 1 in a control group can skew the results... you have to have a control group and a test group.
I have a XW Barred Rock available. Him crossed to a Delaware makes a killer meat bird. Just sayin'

People who have ate both Dels and XW Barred Rocks said the XWs were far tastier and I'll tell you now... they grow BIG

Part 1: Bairo, my rooster has crowed today. He hadn't crowed since the rooster died. He has had his shots for a few days. He had begun pecking again. But yesterday he started playing and flying. It was so much fun seeing him get frisky again. But today - our crowing came back. We were so excited that we kept yellling "good morning" just to hear him do it again. (He crows if you yell good morning). And my golden wyandotte rooster and sistachic's Barahma rooster started trying to crow back at him. We were so excited. Tommy said to tell you and to thank you. So thank you.

Part 2: Our ten guineas are having issues. Two of them are a lot smaller than the other eight. We sat and started watching. (I hadn't noticed that they were growing as big as the others) Those two were staying away from the group. We saw the 8 were bullies. They wouldn't let them eat. If they got off the roost, the other pecked them. We caught them and put them in the coop/run with the golden wyandottes. Realized from their yellling that it is one boy and one girl. They have paced all day. You can tell that anxiety doesn't even cover it. But they are eating. Yipee!

ATTENTION ALL

The picnic is being held this Sunday @

Holston River Park
3300 Holston Hills Road
East Knoxville

We have it reserved from 1PM till 5 PM

http://www.cityofknoxville.org/parks/holston.asp

It is the shelter up front with water and electricity.

Everyone is welcome to come and visit and have a good time.
There is always lots of good food and lots of clucking (conversation).
It is a very good way of putting faces to screen names.
Even spouses and children always have fun.
And NO ONE has ever had a bad time at one of these.

Everyone brings a dish of what ever they like. Except stang she MUST bring cupcakes. Yum Yum.
Everyone brings their OWN drinks, that way you have what you prefer, SORRY NO alcohol allowed (it is family oriented)

Here is a pic of the actual sign that we have to help spot each other.

We have SO many NEW members that we want to meet.
I hope everyone can come.

Will not be able to make it. We are penny pinching right now and that is just too far to drive. Wish everyone a great time though.

XW... From Jeremy?
Yes... his line. I have two roosters but one is older and ugly a bit from moult... the younger one is about 5 months old now and pretty as could be. I had a mated pair and when the hen was killed I hatched her only egg that I had at the time and what do I get? Another rooster. Should have never set it.

I will go out and get pictures of this rooster. Ya'll into meat birds probably know the "cross" part of cornish crosses is white rocks... the reason for white is simply so the bird dresses out better. it's the Plymouth Rock that matters more than color, especially for home consumption.

ok... losing light... hold on

OK.... If anyone is interested in him for cross breeding meat birds... He is the same age as the others he is with... all hatched the same day. All standard (LF) breeds.

I thought I would ask on here too to give these little guys a chance for a good home. I caught the mom in my predator live trap and it didn't take long and these babies showed up. The mom was a feral girl that had been stalking my chickens, she escaped at my friends house when we tried to transfer her to a bigger cage, but the kittens are at my friends house now being cared for. The one with the little soul patch is a girl and the one with more white on it's face is a boy. They are very sweet kittens that fall asleep and knead their paws when you hold them. Their eyes look clear, they have pink gums, are about 5 weeks old and eat soft solid food already. If anyone close to the tri cities would like these adorable babies just PM me please.

Awww... NO! (LMAO!!)

Seriously, tugging at my heart strings but I have my own feral population I have been catching and "fixing" and feeding and taming and doctoring. If you got them fixed (say with PPAW) you would be able to find something for them. I adopted a few of mine out but I got them fixed first. $17 a kitten with their shots (including rabbies)

I am with tnchickenut: awww...but can't afford anymore. I am glad you posted them this way & not the fb death row inmates I get bombarded with every time I go on there. Good luck in finding them homes.

BTW this is how I ended up with my last cat: went into feed store, cage with kitten & said kitten now lives here! thankfully these are far enough away!
