Question on the peacocks - how many eggs do they lay in comparison to the guineas? They are super expensive. The only way I could ever afford one is to start in the incubator.
my hen was to young to lay this year. They don't start laying until two yrs old. I was told they lay roughly 15-25 a yr. Depends on the hen ( if you let her set or not ) and the season.

Purdty things in the yard cause me problems. And thanks for the link. I scanned it & decided I would delve into deeper another time. I am bad about scanning, sticking bits & pieces in memory and trying to recall where they came from later. I am going to try to work on my orps & see what kind of screw ups I can have!
ok purdty things can equal funny thangs. Brahma over blue or buff orp . now they free range seperately.

We are not taking the truck to the picnic. I hope there is no chickens there that I'll want.

Got a new camera yesterday for my birthday. I'm DYING to let the chickens out and practice. But we have family (that we can't stand because they mooch) coming in today so we have to take off. lol Are we awful or what? Ever run away from home to keep from having to cook/clean and keep people from moooooooching off of you?

Wooo hoooo.... If I get my helpers today and tomorrow, I will have consolidated down to 12 pens.... so 12 waterers for winter.... and only the 12 warmest coops are going to be used. It's nice finally having it done in time.

Except for the 2 chicks you're getting from me, right?

Had a good time at the show, there was quite a few people but not many "buyers" so yeah, I didn't sale anything in the 3 hours I was there... oh well! Those wyandottes are fat little things, I was grabbing them and they were much healthier than the bantam cochins I just got...

A bit off topic. Do we have any members here with milk goats? I am in need of some goat milk for our new puppy. If you have any for sale please PM me. Thank you.
