Oh yes! LOL, it is sooo funny to watch them play... the little blue one even was growling! They'll just be sitting there and then jump up in the air like a Mexican jumping bean... These are very friendly at their age, but momma is friendly so they are curious when I walk in, the moment I have the door open they're at it wanting to know what is up.
Shut up... now I'm wanting one and I don't REALLY want one... but I do. We lost our rabbit about three months ago and I am not ready for another pet rabbit. But that grey one keeps looking at me and it's killing me, then you are talking about them binkying and now I have to walk away from BYC for awhile. Tell me when they are sold.

LOL, that may be another 9 weeks...

was going to wait to see who was worth keeping, but gotta let them grow up a little bit before they're worth looking at... I may keep them all, just depends.. the blue one may not be going anywhere anytime soon

I need a regular Silkie

And he must be spectacular for my little girls.

What new breed are you going for?
One clutch of eggs has some very nice colors...even red. The other clutch are Columbians. So...I am going to have some very nice colors from these. I will also have the lavenders and paints. Hope to have porcelain as well. Since you have Show Girls you will need regular silkies to breed to. These 2 clutches will hatch around Thanksgiving so they should be laying around April-May. Silkies tend to lay a bit earlier than some breeds. I am excited!!

that is fine... because then I can have babies later when I am ready and you take the pressure off now. ;)

Here is my greenhouse we are going to convert to a hen house/run this spring. I am so excited. think I may build 3 or 4 breeding cages in it. It is a hoop greenhouse I was telling you about. In the summer I cover it with shade cloth to cut down on the heat. It has a place in the back to put a large fan for exhaust. Wish I had thought about using it since I don't grow many plants in it now. This will probably be my silkies breeding area.

@Itsthelaw...I am so sorry that you lost Plymouth. We have a little graveyard where all out cats are buried Each one has a different colored daylilly on it. My Polish rooster, Chaos..jumps up on a roost at the front of their run every time I come in the free range area. He crows a couple times...looks at me them hops down. I don't know if he is saying "hello" or "stay away!" I am going to show him at the Newport show.

We have a new wild cat and boy is he beautiful. He is a blue/cream Persian type cat. He has a short nose but not smooshed like a Persian. I am trying to decide whether to capture him and tame him or just let him keep hanging around. Either way he has to be neutered and shots.

I woke up this morning and went into the guestBR to feed the chicks. Sometime during the wee morning hours the bulb blew and they got cold. 1 was dead and a couple where alive but not moving much. The others had crowded under my SG older chick who is a lot bigger. I started stuffing chicks in my bra. After about 45 minutes they where peeping so I put them in and they went to eat. It still took them a couple hours to get their balance back. I hate it when this happens. Lunar has a great heater thing from Brinsea that I am going to invest in. When I went out to the hen house the brooder light had blown too. But those chicks are older and cuddled with the older chickens. I think it must have been the cold snap that caused them to blow. I know the one in the house had just been in there for about 2 weeks. So now I am paranoid about the bulbs. I put the brooder over the heat vent to give extra heat in case it happens again. I think it did it between 1 AM and 7 AM. Long enough to affect them. The dead one was all the way on the other side of the cage away from the light. I hate this!!! I don't know of any other back-up system. But the thing Luna has will eliminate that problem. My cat got in my lap and could not figure out where all the peeping was coming from. I had booby chicks!!

@Stang..we will have eggs hatching at the same time!! I am hatching one of my OE eggs who is in with my blue silkie roo...just curious what that combination is going to be.

@tnchicknut..I know what you mean about migraines. I had to go to the ER at 3AM Monday. This one was horrible. I could not even stand to hear people talk so they whispered. 3 shots later and I was finally getting some relief. The drs. have been trying to figure out what is causing them since they are getting more frequent and more serious. I have had as many as 12 in one month. I hope they find out what is wrong soon...I can't take it like the last one again. There is seldom a day goes back that I don't have a headache though most are mild and I can take care of it with Excedrin Migraine.

Well...sorry for being so long winded. Wanted to try and get everything in one post. I hope it is nice weather the day of the Newport show!! I am thinking about going the night before to coop the ones I am showing and take the camper so I will be rested and not rushed the morning of the show. Gotta ask to see if they will let me park somewhere.

I can't wait to see if you get some reds

No one around has that color. And the lavenders have my attention as well. My Show Girls are doing great! They are feathering out nicely, and personality to boot. They graduated to the 75 gal aquarium today. They love the extra space. Now my little tub is ready for Serama eggs if they hatch(double

)

Here is the brooder I have. Mine is the 20 chick size, but there is a 50 chick size as well. It is adjustable in height for temp changing and no bulbs to blow out and you can place your hand on it, so no burning anything. Its easy to clean and holds rock solid in temp. I love mine. And it fits great into my little tub brooder.

Gratz! on your eggs and all the colors. I hope they hatch well for you.

@stang--I hope yours hatch well too! We need to all get in a circle and do the Hatching Dance for good luck.

@tnchickenut-- sorry to hear that your dwarfs stopped on you...My freebie Turken egg is trying to perk

and maybe 1 Japanese bantam of the 2. Gotta love the free ones.

@terry.... thank you. They gave me muscle relaxers and pain pills, one of the two work. I don't know. I take them at the same time. They said it is most likely from my accident where I was hanging crooked and by my head. Said I should see a chiropractor, but getting work comp to agree to that is a different story. (probably shouldn't be talking about it on here)

@ lunar - I stopped turning them today and candled (in a bright sun filled room, so it wasn't all that easy) and I may be wrong about one of them. But 4 were def. stopped. One Japanese out of the three freebies was good. I hope it isn't a rooster. I have a mixed flock of bantams that has a OEGB roo... he doesn't share his women well.

Weekly update on the Orps. They are now 8 weeks old & doing great. I am still holding to my 3:1 in favor of pullets.

blue cockerel black pullet (?)

black pullet runt blue pullet (?)

Maybe you will get 6 then. And hopefully, your Jap will be a pullet. My Turken definately looks like its trying. And one Jap as well. My Serama's are looking like 5/6, but they so tiny, I am not judging till a later date.

And migraines.....I can take something for mine and the pain might ease, but I still get light sensitive and sick...so I feel for anyone who has them at any degree.

@itsthelaw Sorry to hear about your loss. I was hoping things might turn around.

@TNBarnQueen when are your eggs hatching? I want to know when to start bugging you for pictures.

Ok, I will go away now. I think that's enough for a weeks worth of posting. Sorry...
