Eastern Washington

Hello from Cheney. I have three Broodies right now. One with 8 chicks, the other two still sitting, and an incubator full of eggs. Spring has spring. I have many different varieties including Marans, Welsummer, Wyandotte, Silliest, and mixed.
How fun!!! I'm jealous. I was expecting some Maran chicks to be delivered to the feed store today, but got notified yesterday that they didn't ship and won't be available until May!

They were going to be a gift for my neighbor who got me in to chickens. So I've been looking around at hatching eggs, and Chicken Math is happening... Before you know it I'll be ordering 5 dozen eggs because I want them ALL. Hehehe

Are you going to be selling chicks? If so, I'd be interested in finding out more about what you have.

There is someone in Medical Lake who regularly posts black Copper Maran eggs and chicks on Craigslist. Keep an eye there or even post a request.

I am mostly selling fertile mixed eggs now, but am selling small quantities of chicks. Still working on getting some breeding pens built.

I am hoping to have a broody here sometime soon. I have a few eggs I would like to hatch of my own but am interested in other breeds I don't have. I'm in Ritzville. Hopefully I can find some on here when and if that time comes.

I have a mixed flock, but you are welcome to some eggs if you want. I have a Cuckoo Maran rooster over Buff Orpington, Black Australorp, Barred Rock, Delaware, and Easter Egger hens. I just hatched out my first from them and these are my chicks at 2 1/2-3 weeks old. Most are supposed to look like dad, but I do have some variance coming out. The girls should make eggs a little darker than their mothers. PM me if you are interested. I didn't have any EE eggs hatch (I only had 1 of these eggs under her), but if you do the eggs from that hen should be olive colored.

So I have been asked by Hubby to post something. As he was coming home today he almost got 20+ chickens on the highway coming back from Cour de alene to Clarkston. If you know who has them, or if they are yours, please put up a fencing of some sort to keep them off the highway. I understand they are chickens and like to wander and can fly, but it is a very busy road and not very forgiving. From what I got, he would have taken out the whole flock, between him and an oncoming truck, and it isn't very easy to get the big trucks stopped very quickly. I will be posting this to the Idaho thread as well.

my sister was traveling the same highway from Spokane to walla walla. She said the same thing.:p

I am going to have some roosters I wont need. They are either going to find good homes or become thanksgiving. I have a 1 year old Cuckoo Maran rooster that is very sweet to his girls, in fact I nicknamed him Romeo because he is so sweet. But now that I have offspring from him, I need to get new roosters so I don't have him breeding with his daughters come next spring. He was ordered from McMurray hatchery last spring straight to my house so I know he isn't a mismarked barred rock, plus he has the maran white legs. I also have at least one rooster from him that is now 4 weeks old and huge already compared to his siblings, looks identical to daddy but the mother could be Buff Orp, Delaware, Black Australorp or Barred Rock. My chickens are on organic feed and are in an awesome enclosed chicken run/coop and have an pampered easy life.

I am willing to sell these roosters to someone if you need a rooster for your girls or trade rooster for rooster if you have a nice or young rooster. I would prefer young roosters, since I know many of you out there cannot have roosters where you live and you have the 10% risk of getting one at the feed store/hatchery. So if anyone has a young rooster that you cannot have in your area I might be willing to take/buy it from you depending on the breed. Please respond or PM me if you are interested. And keep me in mind if you get an oops rooster from the store or hatchery that you cannot keep.

Here are the pictures of my roosters, I may have more young ones, but I am not sure of sex on the other six chicks I have yet.
