Eastern Washington

Hi everyone. I'm new to BYC so thought I'd introduce myself. I'm just outside of Walla Walla and have had a small flock (usually around 7) hens for about 7 years now. I have RIRs, Silkies, BR, and Amuracanas. I love incubating and the whole hatching process and try to find fertilized eggs every spring (as I don't keep a rooster). This year I'm looking to add some new chicken breeds and peafowl to my flock. I'm super excited for Spring!
If anyone knows of a local peafowl breeder, let me know!

Welcome! I live in College Place!

I have some friends that have peafowl, but I don't know if they breed or not. I'll look into it for you!

Hey WW farms! Welcome! I am in Dixie. I love the incubation side of things too. The whole process is so interesting to me. I can come up with some fertile Cream Legbar and Easter-egger (cream legbar roo over blue-lace wyandotte, light sussex, and welsummer hens) eggs for you this spring if interested, message me!

Hey guys, I'm in Kennewick and I'm thinking about ordering some California White Chickens. I have to order 25 and only want about half. Is anybody interested in buying some from me? Will charge the same as I paid i think she said $2.80 each plus tax.

Wow we have about 8" of snow now, and it is STILL coming down. The girls are NOT thrilled at all. I usually let them out of the run for a lil bit as I mess around gathering eggs and what not. They walked to the door and like a bunch of ole biddies stand there and complain! Look at me like it is ALL my fault they can't take the escorted walk around the yard. I sprinkled some straw down on the snow and all I got for my effort was 12 sets of stink eye, looking at me like I was crazy. The bravest hen California Grey, named Dimitri walked out on the straw got hit by some large snowflakes let out a loud squawk, barreled past the ones in the door and shook herself like she had been touched by something that had grossed her out. She did not appreciate my laughing. So glad they can amuse me with they way they react to situations. :gig

Hi everybody, I'm from Pullman, Washington! I'm going to WSU right now and I'm in a really unique situation where I'm living in a large house in Pullman that has a huge yard with some old dog runs on it. Well, we don't have dogs and I've had chickens since I was little, so we got permission from the landlord and from the city of Pullman. Now we've got eight sweet little chickies and are building a coop. I can't wait until summer to let my babies go outside for the first time!

Yup, we have about that same amount! My duck and one of the three chickens are the only ones brave enough to go out, wing deep in the snow. The other two stay in the hen house, one kind of wandering around/pacing, and the other decided that now is a great time to go broody! XD
