Our seven hens were hatched April 1. They started laying their first eggs July 15. Each day I collect them, weigh them, and than eat them...my family loves them.
We have eaten every single egg they have laid with no issues.

I suppose if one were still feeding the young pullets medicated chick starter until the day they laid, perhaps one would hold off eating the eggs for 2-3 weeks. But I'm not sure....
