eating invisible eggs???

so each day when i go hold my chickens i notice 2 or more of them have yolk on there face or the back of there head. BUT THERES NO SIGN OF AN EGG!!! i thought maybe they ate all of the egg, but i collected all of the eggs i should get in a day, and all of the other eggs are fine. How is this happening??? please please please comment.

Sounds like there's an off chance that you've got somebody who does a good egg/bad egg combo... but I didn't think that that was likely to happen every day! Anyway, maybe one (or several) are laying a fully developed egg and then laying a softshell/incomplete egg and that's what they're eating?

i never thought of that but you may have somethin' there cause one of our chickens was laying shelles eggs thanks!!!
