ebay 6 eggs...$224.74 current bid

For that much money, you could buy ALL the eggs my silly little birds lay for the next two months.
Ha ha. Looks like I wont be getting any Marans,
But I sure am glad that both the seller and the purchaser are obviously happy about the prices of those eggs.

I think it's crazy to pay those kind of prices for ANY eggs! Lord knows that even if I had the Money I would never pay that kind of price for eggs, and most certainly not shipped eggs!!!!

Edited to say 6 shipped eggs! NOT!!! I have paid $100 for a dozen that I picked up but that the most ever and they were quality and type I wanted as well as I knew how they were handled.

Well, she must be doing something right. If you read the feedback, there are many satisfied customers. I can't imagine paying that much for eggs, but I have to admit, I was tempted to place a bid. They surely are pretty eggs.

It depends on what you want. I wouldn't pay that much for just any eggs but I have paid 200 for 18 eggs and only had two hatch and they are well worth the money to me. Now I am not going to pay that much for junk

I did not know Donna was part of BYC, what is her club name?

I live about 1 1/2 hrs from her and travel with my husband to Loma Linda all the time. I have her Cell # and plan to stop by her place one day in Norco.

She sells chicks, but not hatching right now. She has hens right now and I would guess eggs. I was suprised at that price as well, I know she has been busy perfecting her egg color, we spoke about that in 2007.

Not sure which color Maran I want. I read they are desease hardy, that is always a plus. Which colors are more Rare. Looked for pics of Marans, found alot of Black ones. Her hens are Cuckoo, Golden Cuckoo, and Wheaten.

Thanks guys. Feel free to pm me if you want.

her name on here is also bayhorsebonne, but she almost never posts because of the constant upheaval over her auctions. She is just not comfortable here I think. Too bad, she is a nice lady.

it is all about what you want, and in some arenas it is a very fine line between best and next best. In horses, some people will pay fifty million dollars more for a horse that can run a hudredth of a second faster than the second place winner in say, the Kentucky Derby. Doesn't mean the horse is any better, might even be a worse horse, but it won that day. People will pay and count themselves lucky.

OK so I'm new here. I don't even have chickens but I'm getting some chicks in Feb.

I do not understand what the big deal is with this ladies auctions. I have sold a lot of stuff on ebay in the past. Here is the key people pay what they think is a good deal. She obviously has happy customers so she must be providing a good product (eggs).
The people who are giving her a hard time are just jellous in my opinion. What do you care how I spend my money? If I want to buy a pound of dirt for $100 and I'm happy with it wouldn't you sell it to me?
I say good for her!! Hope she makes a cool million:cool:
Well that's my two cents anyway.

welcome to byc!!! hey slaghunter. what kind of slag do you hunt? I used to have a killer vintage marble collection, and some of my favorites were the transition slags...
