Ebay egg advice please?

That would be a nasty shock to hatch out a Guinea, expecting a silkie!

They are definitely bantam and not pullet eggs.

I am going to wait and see what the seller offers. The tone of the sellers reply will decide how I proceed. Rudeness or no reply = refund request through paypal. Anything else is up to the seller. I am pretty agreeable, just a bit shocked at getting bantam eggs!

I don't know if this helps you at all but I have a Sultan who is very young. She is with other chickens the same age and is half of their size and weight. I don't think Sultans get very big to begin with so what you may have is a standard sultan egg.
I could be totally wrong about the egg size as mine has not started laying yet, but again...mine is a very small bird. I doubt she will ever produce even a medium sized egg on her best day. I think I'm gonna go look this up...

well can you post a pics of the eggs so we can decide whether they are bantam eggs pullet eggs or just small adult sultan eggs?

It will be hard to determine if you got bantam eggs, since Sultans lay small eggs anyway. I think you will have a hard time if you dispute this transaction, as you got what you ordered, and actually got a few extras. It will be your word against theirs as to whether they are bantam eggs or not.

I wouldn't stress over it. Could be starter eggs but also the sultans lay a smaller egg than a full size chicken such as a barred rock, marans, RIR, ect. Also the post office is just a pain. I have shipped packages through the post office and errors are made when they tell me it costs $...... to mail a package yet when the package arrived it cost ....... more. Also I have received packages the same way. Wait and see what hatches from these eggs and do not jump to conclusions until you know for sure. If nothing hatches ask the seller to work with you as most will. Don't just run to paypal as that is what has ruined ebay for many people. It's a black mark on the seller that can lead to suspension.

So from what I could gather, they do come in standard and bantum, so there you go...I got mine from the feed store from the "crested variety chicks" straight run tub. I thought she was a 5 toed silkie so that shows you what I know...She does however appear to be a bantum as she is so much smaller then the rest of my young flock. I figure her eggs will likely be tiny as well. Wish the seller had specified for you about the size of the eggs before you purchased.

I raise Sultans and they do lay a small egg. I've never even SEEN a bantam Sultan, but all sultans are small birds. Ours are just a bit taller than our bantam cochins but of course smaller in body size and they lay about the same size egg. I'd check around before I decided they were bantam eggs. Maybe someone has a photo of both standard and bantam Sultan eggs to show?

edited to add; Our Sultans are about the size of a Polish.

I know many great people on BYC that also sell on ebay and other sites. Bought many eggs myself and always have had great success. Last thing I bought were 30 guinea eggs and I have 20+ now that are 3 months old. Not all of ebay is bad.
