Ebay Purchased Hatching Eggs Experiences Ups & Downs!!!

She wants you to ship a live chick back to her in order to get a refund? How crazy is that? Let's risk the life of this poor chick,just to make a point. If I didn't think ill of the seller,I do now. Sheesh! Why not just e-mail a picture of the chick. I think she is being a jerk now.
 
I always try to think of the issue from the sellers point as well as the buyers point. If sellers can no longer leave negative feedback, what is to stop a buyer from lying about their purchase? They could say they weren't the right eggs and they really were. Or they could say they never received an item and they did. YOu could send her a photo of ANY chick...even a photo you pirated. If you've never sold on Ebay, it may be difficult to understand this point of view. You can get her telephone number by clicking on this link:

Then perhaps you could give her a call and try to sort things out. I really believe it was an honest mistake and I also agree that she should make it right. Talking by phone may help her realize that you aren't trying to "take" her...
 
I have sent her a picture of the chick. It is posted on this very same forum. I am also a power seller on ebay and have been for 8 years. I know exactly how to be a seller as well as a buyer. The lady just doesn't want to except responsibly for this and that's all there is to it.
I only ask for a partial refund on the one chick. The other 3 eggs didn't even hatch. I was plenty fair and plenty honest. I paid 42.00 dollars for the eggs and asked for 10.00. She stated to pay pal she would pay that if I returned the item. As stated from pay pal site.

I will never buy any more eggs off of ebay and only suggest that any one does , never leave feedback until the eggs hatch. No matter how well the shipping or packing is.

It was just my bad experience and I have learned my lesson well. I guess everyone will have to have their own personal experience. Good or Bad.

I guess I just don't understand why you are so bitter about a poor hatch? Yes, it's unfortunate, but we all know you take big chances on shipped eggs. I bought VERY expensive Copper Black Marans eggs from Bev Davis - anyone who has Marans knows that she is VERY well known for her very high-quality birds - she sent 14 and only 3 hatched. Yes, I was disappointed. VERY disappointed. They were extremely expensive. But, I know these are the chances you take with shipped eggs.

At the other extreme, I bought some "mutt" eggs for layers off a seller unknown to me - she sent 14 eggs, and 13 hatched. I felt extremely fortunate! I do understand your dissapointment, but life ain't fair, and there are other things that could have happened to the eggs other than bad shipping to make them not hatch. I wish you the best of luck on future hatches!!

I have said this time and time again .........this forum is not about the hatch rate. it is about the Hatched chick.
Just because the eggs not hatching is mention doesn't mean I am talking about it. It is more of an example of what this purchase from an ebay seller consisted of ok?

As stated I only requested 10.00 for one egg that was a different breed EVEN though the other eggs didn't even hatch.
Surly it can't get any clearer than that.
And yes I am bitter about receiving a different egg than what I bought and not getting a refund on it.

I am actually more upset that she would have the gawl to have me ship it back to get the refund.


I will not even going comment on it NOT being the hatch rate again. Please read all the replies not just the one.
 
Her having me return the item forces me to have to close a dispute with pay pal for the 10.00 because pay pal is not smart enough to know that it is a live chicken we are talking about and I can't possibly send the chick back. For less than 35.00 dollars.
I guess I could cut it's head off and send her a dead chick and that way I wouldn't have to send it express overnight so it wouldn't die.
And trust me I thought about it.

Oh lesson learned. And yes I have other eggs here from another buyer that didn't hatch and i didnt say a word about that because I know exactly the chances you take with eggs.
I even have eggs in the incubator now from another seller on ebay. I fully trust that what ever hatches will be what at least i purchased.
Note: I said what ever hatches may it be 0 or all out of the eggs.
That's why I went the chicks route this time. Wow what a difference.
The day will come will I will long leave this forum about this but trust me as long as there are eggs sellers on ebay the forum will live on.

I think you should be refunded your money if the chick you hatched was not the breed you bought.Who cares if it's one chick or 100 chicks? She advertized,you bought,you did not get what you paid for. It's as simple as that. If you had a 0% hatch,this post would not even exist. There is no excuse for sending something other than what you advertized without making it right.
I know you can alter a picture,but you can also send a different chick. If she knows you are lying because she knows she sent the right eggs,she would just tell you that. I only send marans eggs from marans that are no doubt purebred. If a hen got out,or a non-marans rooster accidently got in, I would not sell those eggs until I was sure they were pure,period. I can't guarantee much in the hatching process,but I can gaurantee that.If you were to buy my pure marans eggs and then claim you hatched a non-marans chick, I would politly but firmly tell you that there is no way that could happen. That's my opinion.
 
Call PayPal. I've had to call and speak to someone with a dispute before and it was a big help. If you speak to someone and explain why it can't be sent back they may find in your favor or at least alert them that there is a problem with the seller.

Update the feedback you left her also to include your problem
 
Yeah I thought about that. I am sure I will have to do that. I didn't close the dispute yet and left a message. So I am waiting for a response. I am sure I wont get one. I'll have to call them.
