Ebay seller took image off my poultry clubs website

Silkieluver: I think it would be pretty hard to get eggs across the boarder without a ton of paperwork. Have you ever talked with Rick Hare? I've been working with his bloodline a lot and he has very nice birds and is not too far away from you.

Here's his website: http://www.geocities.com/rosecombbantams/

OMG
DLS! I nearly fell out of my chair when I read that!! I like the way you think

I just went a posted a replacement image. It's a faded image with the words: This image is not an image of the sellers own birds. This is a Pirated Picture! Buyer Beware!

Hey, I'm allowed to do whatever I want to my own pictures on my own website....not my fault the person is linking to the image without permission.

I thought I saw a second auction also though that was ending further out that is gone now also. If you look up their feedback though you can still see it in the previous auction. That's one way to sure teach a lesson.

If it helps any, and maybe it won't. I am artist on a local site which is pretty large as far as art goes (painting, photographic, graphic design, glass, etc.) part of the group is for marketing (which I lead the marketing area for artists using online sources for selling) my major job is to teach people the rules of what they are doing and have to use and navigate many sales sites, though mostly ebay.

What this lady has done has broke several rules of ebay, and she has violated several areas of the copyright laws as well as fraud. The comment she made claiming it is her bird automatically would have her pulled from ebay.

Forget trying to get a few $$$ for the use of the picture, she's already shown thats she's lied to others and is misrepresenting herself, ebay and your club.

Turn over the attached email from her, her name, her link and the link to the club with the actual owners' photo and she will be removed within 48 hours. If you come to ebay with immediate proof where they have no reason to ask any further questions she will be dealt with.

I deal with a lot of fraud and stolen images on ebay. In our group alone I swear we get a rip off artist ever week over there!

I know some people used to replace pics with like dog poo pics when people were stealing their pictures. Too funny!

*ROTFLMAO*

Ok, this was just too much fun!

Their instant response once I place the 'new' picture on my website:

"ok im very sorry it was not copyright as i saw. Please i do not want any trouble i don't have much money but i will donate some. Where can i send money too? And i am very sorry. I will remove the photo. And i do have leghorns. "
