eBay silkie eggs?

I was checking the feedback, and one seller neg feedback 3 times in one hatch. The straddle leg could be fixed, but another chick was born without eyes, and another with hooked neck. Is this just more common with silkies, or with her genetics?

She has beautiful birds, they are so clean, lol. I would have to build special coops for them, and hire a maid to keep them that clean around here. I do think I will be trying for some this spring, she really has pretty birds.

Yeah, spraddle leg can be fixed...but as fas as the no eyes and hooked neck, I have never heard of this in silkies...

Could of also been something that went wrong during incubation !!

Agree--I have heard of deformities due to inproper incubation or humidity. Also PO might have something to do with it--too rough on eggs or x-rays...

M@M@2four, I wasn't sure if it was kosher to post a id from another person on here, but I'm sure he won't mind. It was killerad4ez4, currently I don't think he has any listed, maybe because of cooler weather.

Oh my word...so I emailed the person that left negative feedback on 1234Muki, just to offer them help with the spraddle leg. I just wanted to tell them that that could be easily fixed and that it does sometimes happen due to the chick taking a bit lomger to hatch...they e-mailed me back with this nasty reply:

"great! I am glad YOU like genetic defect birds. I will make sure to not bid on any of your birds! I personally like MY birds to have EYES when they hatch!"

That is ONE nasty person...I e-mailed them back and asked why they were so hostile...I explained that sometimes the PO is rough on handling eggs and x-ray machines may have been the cause as well...I was really trying to help! yikes!!!

Holy moly, that is nasty!

I've read a lot of stuff in the incubating and hatching eggs section about deformities caused by incubation problems. I'd be more prone to believe that's the problem with that icky buyer. She sounds awful!

She's NASTY! I was SO nice and just trying to help! I'd hate to hear a chick was culled over spraddle leg...I was just trying to help! Wow...I was just shocked as I was just trying to help. I would be thanking someone for offering help. And her comment that she would never buy my eggs??? I don't want her business!!! lol

That is the problem with ebay, some buyers are just plain hateful. When reading feedback it is hard to get a gauge on a seller because of buyers just give negatives for the fun of it. Their feedback system is worthless now.
