I have two boys that are just getting into 4H this year, and they're soooo excited about showing the chickens. Now, if I could only harness that enthusiasm in the chicken-chores, I'd have it made!! LOL!

I just wanted to say I think this is a great gesture you are providing for everyone! That is really great to do such a thing, especially with your beautiful lavenders, to help out people to have some nice chickens. It is really inspiring to me and others I'm sure.

I really adore your lavender project! I have been saving up to buy some from you since I first saw them in an auction on here you had.

I would love to tell you reasons why I think you should send me some eggs but I really don't have any worthy ones except I love your birds. Pass on me and give them to someone else though, I will have saved up enough spending money to buy some from you shortly! I really just wanted to add that I think this is a really nice thing to do - Shows what good character you and your hubby have

hello, we are lovers of the auracana chickens and I absolutely love your lavender project. I am saving to buy some of your eggs. I only work partime and dh is disabled so it may be awhile for me. We are just starting our chickens again. Had to move to a different state and now we are trying to get a small flock going again. I have hatched 10 eggs in my old Hovabator that still works after 10 years.

It is great that you are offering to send free eggs to someone, that is truely a great idea in these tough times. I hope next year I can help do that too. Please keep me in mind for some of your lavender project eggs, those are truely my favorite. Because of money situation we are only doing one breed of chickens and only keeping 15 hens and 3 roosters. So I still have room to grow, I'm only at 10 plus some unknown cochin bantys that are going to a 4-Her down the road, she can't afford to buy any but has a sponsor for feed for her project, so I am helping her out by giving her these that I hatched out.

I hope everyone is enjoying the BYC as much as I am.

How bout a kid story? I went outside and my 8 yo was in the patio swing. He was singing. I walked around to see what he was doing and had to run to get my video camera. He was swinging very nicely and singing our disabled chicken to sleep! She was out cold and comfortable as can be. She was lost for a week this winter and we had thought a predator had got her. Since my son *found* her I couldn't just cull her, it would have broke his heart. So she lost a few toes and thinks she is one of us since she spent months in the house. Wish I could post a pic of him with her, it's a regular thing for them now......it's too adorable

Hi all! Thanks so much for sharing your stories and pics. I've read through all of the pages and made some initial notes, but even my list (of who I'd like to share my eggs with) is more than I can afford. I will go through the posts again and if I can't decide, I'm going to draw names from a hat. I'll be back in a little bit with the decision. Good luck everyone! Ohh can i post mine real fast..? Ok so im new to incubating and hatching and my goose egg is in my bator but they say he'll get lonely if he doesn't have a friend and i've been lookin everywhere to get some eggs sent to me but it seems there all soo expensive and just wanted to say this is a really, really good idea and i hope i have a good chance at winning!

Heres my friend's kids who said the next chicks i hatch they want some.. Orps or Bantams if Possible..
