I believe I'm close to really feeling good just a little tonight...
I guess hope can do that. This system and the way it works needs an overhaul.
The money they say could be spent is absurd, crazy, and disgusting. I could put the money into a fence and really have more of an end to this problem.
We should be getting hit with snow here soon thah also stops the dog walkers, I'm praying for deep snow....

Plaintiff clearly has a rich and inviting fantasy life, should he persist in this ridiculous claim."

Remember that pretty much once you establish that the dog was a threat, that the court -should- side with you and dismiss the case. Then you countersue for damages related to anything done by the perp and his dog, including an cleanup of animal wastes, and ask the court to find in your favor. Ask the court to garnish the guy's wages.

What then happens with a jerk like this is that he appeals to the State Supreme Court, hoping that he can outbid you in the justice system. I've seen idiots spend 10K to avoid paying $2500, because it's about winning.

Personally, I'd find a lawyer and sue him purple and be done with it.

As to the abuse of your property by dog walkers, I know that you can ticket them, but can you also take them to small claims for the cost of cleanup related to their dogs? Can you get evidence that people you ticket are repeat offenders? Cameras are your friends.

Further, and sadly, when the psycho dog walkers get annoyed enough, you need to make sure your house and coops are secure. Vandalism and killing your chickens will happen when the yuppie dog walking trespassers get mad enough.

Just a pre-coffee thought....so not sure how valuable this is...

Is there ever a point at which documented cases of other 'companion animals' becoming a danger to others would be able to be entered into the discussion? I would leave any Pit-bull stories out simply because of the common and usually miscontrued beliefs, but surely there are cases of 'Lassie and Benji' the companion animals gone awry.

I cant personally think of any at the moment but the news is usually riddled with stories of 'dogs gone wild'. This may help to negate their arguement that you should have known that this dog was 'friendly'. IMHO, any and every dog has the ability to become dangerous.

Best wishes from VA where it is perfectly legal and often encouraged by Law Enforcement to destroy any animal, even Lassie and Benji if they are destroying livestock.

Friendly or not, the dog was after his pets. Period.

There has been cases of "dogs gone wild" and the dogs of Hurricane Katrina comes to mind. Even the Lassie and Benji cases have gone bad because of the owner's fault of not maintaing the dogs or always expect "to happen just once" incidents and ACT upon it when it does happen if your "never can hurt a fly" dog bit or attack your pets or livestock. It boils down to the owner's accountabilities.

I'm sorry to say but the best thing I can do is try to fence my property if I really want more security.
The polices said it, our city officials,
These people that live in the area just are going to do what they want period.
Having the woods next to our home would seem to be great and if it was fenced maybe that would be the case the people that own it live out of state and may not care that is being used as a animal waste dump.
The way things are now it can be years before this land is developed which could be good or bad depending on who moves in.
We a checking in to what it can take for even the simplest barriers at this time. T- Posts and wire can at least slow them down and not give them a clean run at us. I can all so post it but remember dog don’t read up until this summer we did not even see owners with these dogs.
It is only because I walked out that I could even track an owner down and they were all selfish arrogant evil we don’t care people. The police have said as much about this area and the people that live in it. We are the inconvenience whether we have any rights at all does not matter; whether they are breaking the law does not matter.
God can judge them I leave it to him. You could not give me a place to live there. These people deserve each other.
All I can do now is take a deep breath focus on the fight at hand. Today we put a retainer down and let an attorney help us.
Please pray for this that a judge dismisses it or that they are shut down some way GOD could work here.
