Solved Editing a thread or post

Just wish to get this off my chest, regarding the edit feature on our threads we post. I'm given a grace period of only a few minutes to correct embarrassing typos or to add an important piece of information I suddenly notice I left out.

I just went back to a post five minutes after I posted it to add the letters "n" and "d" to make the coherent word "and" and after I made the correction, the post now indicates it was edited.

I'm sure I'm in the very scant minority that is left feeling as if I have done something very naughty after my post is flagged as being "edited".

I ask, is it really necessary for posts to be flagged in this manner when only minor changes have been made?

Kathy I think what Az is saying is she doesn't like this showing on the post.

If I am not mistaken when a Mod edits a post it says "Edited by Staff"

I don't like editing my posts but when I do I try to add in ----edit---- and reason for the need even if it is just spelling. As I personally feel that is fair to anyone who may have liked it.

So majormagic just posted twice (see post #4 and #5).

If the post is edited very quickly after posting the "last edited" text does not show up (see post #5), but if several minutes go by it does (see post #4).

Is there an exact time frame for this "quick edit...won't show that you edited it" way vs the other way?
