So why were they always trying to kill the fourth one? Not being argumentative, it just never made sense.

I had khaki campbells, pekins, mallards, then crosses of them all. Khaki/mallard crosses laid tons of eggs and were phenomenal broodies. I really like the mallards. The pekin males were a little aggressive towards the girls and I wasn't impressed with their carcass size for meat once you got all the feathers off, and they ate a lot even though they were 24-7 free range. If I go with ducks again they will probably be moscovy's, need to move first. I prefer ducks and guineas strictly free range.

I just have my very first, 3 ducks. They are muscovies and I'm seriously in love with them. They're not very social but they were already 3 weeks old when I got them. They are only 7 1/2 weeks old but they'realready master free rangers. I only see them eat out of the dish first thing in the morning then they're gone, shopping bus from the grass all day long. They're already sizing up next to my LF hens so I can only imagine how big they're going to be once grown!

Early 2002: The forum is moved from being hosted on the BYC site to being hosted on a 3rd party site.
Late 2002: Cindi (chickchair) is elevated to Admin status at the new forum
Dec. 2004: Rob (Nifty-Chicken) gets his first chickens and scours the net for info. Finds BYC and a great group of people who are crazy passionate about raising egg-laying machines!
Dec. 2004: Rob starts two new threads on the old BYC and gets a TON of great help from super amazing members.
Early 2005: Rob goes back to the old forum and discovers his first thread is gone... turns out old threads are automatically deleted! Rob was upset to loose all the great info he received and quickly created a backup of the second thread so it wouldnt ever be lost: http://www.nifty-stuff.com/chicken-coop-forum.php
November 2006: Rob tries to get onto BYC and can't. Goes to the old forum and discovers it has been down for a few MONTHS. Rob becomes the new owner of BYC and is determined to grow the site and community

December 2006: It takes about a month to transfer the domain and get the site contents, and upload / update the site to work on the new servers.

No. Didn't know scovy's were cruel, I was hoping they were better than the pekin. I've also thought about cayuga, they're kinda meaty.
Just read up on ancona's, they sound like they'd make a good meat duck. Do you have them?
