Was getting too good of hatch rates after buying that hydrometer. The population explosion has begun.
Instead of a hatch day 3 times a month, down to twice, but just as much hatches with a higher success rate.

Already had the broody ready of course. Flipped the bulb on and adjusted the height to achieve 98-99°f.

The 3 little monsters were rolling my other alien pods around I zoinked them out half wet.. Carefully adjusted the remaining pods and tweaked the humidity back to a desirable %.

I have 8 brooders in operation at the moment. That tight rope balancing thingy is tricky. Just don't look down! You might get spooked and fall! Or notice you are out of space..
Going to be another eventful day. And I love it! That is the insane part I suppose.

My eggs are on lockdown. When I candled then I had one that I could see the chick, much smaller then the others and there was a red ring around the bottom, so guessing that one didn't make it? All others had lots of movements and really good formation of air cells. Some of the eggs were almost completely filled by the chicks, except the air cell. Are these more likely to hatch first? Or are they just biguns?
I don't have a clue about which egg will hatch first. But too much humidity can cause trouble. I would leave that factor alone if your meter is accurate.

A sucked out 2 water journals with my trusty Turkey bastor. Opened the lid and fanned out the moist air with a flap from a cardboard box. Closed the lid. Came back 10 min later and my aux meter reads 58%. Prior to that it spiked at 75%. I had get it down before they drowned. I have seven little aliens out of their pods in the brooder. I use a pretty reliable aux meter for measuring relative humidity. I have added and subtracted warm water to achieve my desired window of optimum levels at 59 to 65% humidity.
Question: Why am I getting still attached umbilical cords still?
