I do not seem to have many photos of them as adults but do have one of a pullet that laid her first egg. She was big for point of lay too:

I have seen much better lines than mine were. Wasn’t sure I wanted to get them again. Are yours still doing well?

I was working with a guy that had an egg farm. He wanted to branch out into the Bresse as meat birds for the Bay area farmers market crowd. I sent them out there and have not had contact with the guy for several years now.

I suspect he let predators get them.

I did breed them for three generations though but hatching eggs from the egg farm. Oh Well!

The problem is that I cannot keep cock birds here in the City and was busted for having too many hens last year. I have 5 hens now

No but my DW ran into people in Turkey that were convinced that the name is from the Ottoman Family from Turkey. I told her that my DNA Tests from both Ancestry and 23andme do not show that.

The name was likely Uttman origianally when my first Ancestor came here in the 1700s.

What does it mean?

I have had three escapes from the brooder. Always a Leghorn. Since I only have two LH, I’m guessing it’s the same one. Today I have no idea how it got around the screen on top.
Anyway, it’s time to switch cardboard boxes. Adding a stick perch turned into a log turned into SCORE!!! I have hidey hole logs!!

They can perch on top and play inside.
