Well I wasn’t too happy about the temps believe me. Grass is too dry already. You stiiiink!
I never throw away any eggs if they don't leak, stink, or until I'm convinced they are done.Well. Do I have a story to tell!
I got up this morning at 5am, thanks to my toddler, and noticed that the lid to my incubator was halfway off. I rushed over and felt the eggs, which I had just locked down the night before, and they were cold. As cold as if they had never been in the incubator. I was just sick, because three of the eggs were from my dad's chickens that were killed by a fox.
I put it back on, with no real hope. Several hours later, one of my kids let me know that the lid was off AGAIN. Again, the eggs were cold. All the way. I figured out that the turning mechanism was catching on something and flipping the lid off. I candled a couple of the eggs, and saw no movement. I was going to throw them out at that moment, but I was in a hurry because we were supposed to be meeting my dad, so I stuck them back in the bator, which was still plugged in and running.
I just pulled them out to throw away, and decided to look just one more time before I threw them in the trash.
And I saw movement! I checked them all, and they are ALL moving!
I told my kids we shouldn't get our hopes up, because the temperature drop could have done enough damage that they may not hatch after all.
But...![]()
Wow!Mid 90’s for the past few days. Next week mid 70’s. All the weeds are drying up.
We had a frost Friday night and likely another tonight. Highs in the 50s for several days. It will finally warm a bit by Tuesday or Wednesday. But that will be all rain. I'm so over the rain.Well I wasn’t too happy about the temps believe me. Grass is too dry already.
No No! Take mine!Take my rain!
Storms a coming. At least that’s what the weather man saysI still have not gotten a roofer to call back, and I’ve already called them all twice. I need him to take my rain!!
