EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Oh sweet! I think they are absolutely gorgeous, and I have not gotten into Ducks, only Chickens and Turkeys so far. We have a cute man made pond too that they would love, it has turtles in it usually too! Do they need a pool or pond, and certain type of feed?   I would love to talk to you more about them, see what it would cost to get started some time in the near future!
no special feed
Just proper starter for ducklings if you go that route. Mine eat flock raiser or my custom feed mix I have made. They are simple to raise and I've never had any real problems with them.

ok,i have a question. will my broody hens egg be okay under her next week we will be in the 29 two days and high 30 the rest of the week at night.

Chaos the euro mounts are so much cooler than mounting something that is to look alive, at least I think so, its a dead animal, although I love my stuffed critters here, I totally love a good euro mount!! and so simple to do and much more impact than a tax mount

Yea I'm getting a Euro mount done with it. I had a lady taxi do a coyote pedestal mount for me a couple years ago. She does great work, not cheap but great work. Will probably be taking it to her to have done.
:thumbsup
yes I have
Didn't know if he gave you a timeframe or not on them. Was just looking at a taxidermists website :th Good taxidermy is expensive.

Ok if you say so,here it isn't very popular. ....
i understand, it probably isnt kosher either it is a way to remember the animal, the hunt and to tell the story of how one got that great buck
No problem there, we don't eat the animal, but there is no problem at all to use, in any way the animal, or its parts. Mmmm maybe not for Woodu witchcraft :lau See this ULTRA ORTHODOX JEWISH Wearing their, funny traditional hats.

I'm traveling for Christmas, so I'm not going to be collecting eggs until I get back. (Hmmmmm.... I suppose I could ask my chicken sitter to save them, and just promise other eggs for her...) Also depends on the potential breeders' condition, etc. (They look pathetic right now, also not getting many eggs - molt, molt molt...).

I only do LF but I have a hexagon building split down the middle with 3 breeding units on one side and 2 on the other. I can access all roosts, nest boxes and feeders from a covered hallway between the two so it makes it easier in inclement weather. Each unit has access to two or more paddocks.
That sounds really neat! What a great idea! Do you have photos? (Or have you already posted photos and I'm being a flake for not remembering...

GOOD MORNING, LOVERS OF ALL THINGS HOT AND CAFFEINATED(ANYONE ELSE GRIN AT THAT?)! I HOPE YOU HAVE AN AWESOME DAY!!!

Thanks, MC, I needed that! It's a rainy day here, no stop in sight. I'm working on getting up the will power to just walk out in the pouring rain because I need to refill feeders. (With this much rain, and them having outside water pans as well, I'm passing on rinsing waterers unless it stops raining)

(Yes, I grinned...

I'm soaked, chilly, and a bit grumpy, but I DID get all feeders refilled and topped off - I felt like a terrible chicken momma because the young layer coop was out of food. I just need to get them a larger feeder... Speaking of which, though I hate the idea of driving in this rain, I need to get more feed and maybe I'll find a larger feeder I like at the feed store while I'm at it...
