What the heck is wrong with these eggs/shells?! In candling, the air cells match the weights. Looks like there's "stuff" in there, but too hard to see whether they are alive - too hard to see veins. The temperature in the R-Com is bouncing around way too much for my liking, though I don't believe it's been in the death zone (though I suppose it could have been in the night). I have the humidity cranked up to the highest it will go (70% by the setting on the incubator). Not much else I can do, is there? Should I wet the eggs or something? This is crazy...

Maybe it wasn't meant to be. We'll see, I suppose.

oh man, I am sorry Kristen, dont wet the eggs no!!!! that will cause them to loose even more! is the fan directly on them, move them as far away as you can

Here is a picture of Snowflake, She is a late (June) hatch, she is moving tomorrow to her new home. She was not happy when I informed her late this afternoon of the move..... And here is a view of my Yokohama Rooster, the hens are in the background, They were on the roost when I took Snowflake into the pole barn so I snapped the picture that shows his great tail (for a cockerel). My first Yokohama chick should hatch a week from today.

My Phoenix, Joaquin, looks similar to your Yokohama!

About the leaking roofing

I found a great product for sealing up metal roofing to preserve it and keep water out. I can get the name if anyone wants it.

Me! Meeeeeeee!!!!! That's on my to do list. I need to spot patch it for underneath (in the attic) until I replace it (hoping to put that off until remodeling altogether) - it was installed wrong (before I bought it), so it leaks through the screw holes.

Something like that would help...

Are all the eggs from your own flocks?

Yup. And all from pullets the same age form the same breeder (though different breeds). Same food, same set up, but different breeding tractor coops. Not sure what it could be...
