EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Morning all.. This includes EVERYONE...

@Beer can It is interesting how people chose the names they use. It also proves no one has an original thought. We have to try so many to get a usable one.

@dan26552 I hate to even say this, because certain Icelanders will think I care about webbies, and nothing can be further from the truth. That said I would not be throwing out eggs that are less than halfway through the incubation period, unless I really need the space. I have had eggs I thought were dead halfway through hatch. Especially the darker turkey eggs. Which are sort of like webbed eggs, only the bird is sweet loveable and has value when it hatches.

@ChickenCanoe I have had turkey hens hatch chickens and Guineas, a turkey is graceful, a Toad is not. Unless you see them I do not think you understand how hug these things are. They have massive bodies compared to a turkey. They are much more similar to a BBB or BBW than a heritage turkey.

I skipped a ton of posts again, because I am self absorbed and really do not care about webbed feet lovers

@BantyChooks I found a picture of you going to town. Sorry about the flat tire..

Interesting morning - at about 8:15am, I heard a distant "Boom" and the power went out. All is well in my house best I can tell, and when calling the power company, sounds like a transformer blew. I was told that my own electrical issues could not have caused it (I'm going to try to catch the work crew to ask them as well). They said it would be fixed before the electrician got here this afternoon. Given my issues, I'm not willing to leave the house because I want to be here watching when the power comes back on, just in case something blows or sparks.

So, incubator, hatcher, and MHP for the new chicks all plugged into the little generator. (So is the internet router.) Now I need to figure out how to get some stuff done for work that would really be easiest done THERE. Time to start emailing folks.

(@Phage - I saw I got outbid on the Ayam Cemani eggs - I'm taking it as a sign from the universe that I don't need to hatch any more eggs right now. I'll just plan on getting them later, which was the original plan anyhow...)

With the black cloud that seems to circle your head. I am so glad we are over 1,000 miles apart.......

I knew you loved webbies!! :love I was going to harvest some extra reindeer from my herd that day.... Those flats are so annoying.... Slowed the whole team down.
Wow! Talk about an uphill battle, considering you have a year's headstart  .. Mission Impossible!
Good luck :p
