@ChickenCanoe They are very pretty.
@Chicken Egg 17 Since I don't know you, please don't take this wrong. If you don't know all the facts on Mycoplasma synoviae you might want to do some research before you bring in new chickens. Your birds will all be carriers, any eggs hatched from them will be worse carriers according to the university that studies this disease. You can eliminate the birds and rest everything for several weeks and spray with of virucide and restock, or live with the fact that you will expose any new birds. The average mortality is around 20%. If you bring in new chicks there is an antibiotic that my vet gave me to help them since they will contract it. Of course, since most backyard flocks in MO have been exposed to some form of mycoplasma according to the AG guy for Missouri (80%+). It is hard to avoid. Therefore, you might be better off breeding for immunity by only breeding those that show no symptoms, and don't sell your birds to other people that might not have been exposed.

@ChickenCanoe your ceviche looks awesome. I had some for the first time in Cozumel, it had shrimp and octopus. Super yummy! I've been craving it ever since.
Thanks.
I had Mexican style on the pacific coast of MX in Jalisco. It's more of a seafood cocktail and that was with octopus and shrimp as well.
This is more like pico de gallo made with raw fish.
By the way, I'm eating some now. Eat your heart out.

I just wish I had some Imperial cerveza to go with it. I guess Budweiser will have to do.
You can probably find the ingredients in LA to make it yourself. The fish only needs to marinade for about 6 hours. You can do anywhere from 4 to 18 hours. Do you have a place to get sushi grade fish/shellfish?

I meant to ask you if the place in Cozumel you snorkeled was the park just a couple miles south of San Miguel. San Miguel is the main town where the cruise ships dock. I got a super cheap B&B in the middle of town. It was a complex of very unique buildings built by a Mexican architect. His wife was French and his 12 year old daughter spoke Spanish, French and English.
We rented mopeds and circled the island a few times. After the cruise ships leave, the town takes on a whole new feel.
We also rented a house with its own reef north of town in the hotel zone.

What we had was like pico with the shrimp and octopus. Saturated with lime juice, very fresh. Served with salty chips, it was 100% the most refreshing thing to eat after being on the beach.

We were at aquarium beach, which after reading tripadvisor reviews seems to be some sort of taxi driver scam. My experience overall was not bad. I did pay way too much for a framed pic of the kids and me holding a parrot, and the snorkel gear was "self-serve." Apparently others were asked to pay a deposit. The water was very shallow and full of sharp rocks and grasses, so even snorkeling wasn't the best. I saw one stingray and that scared the kids enough to totally leave the water.

Still, it was quiet and the food was good. I paid $17 to go, which included the chair, umbrella, and all their fun water toys, and the kids were free.

At grand cayman we snorkeled at cemetery beach and it was probably my favorite part of the whole trip. I was born to snorkel. :D

You enjoy your ceviche. I've spent 2 days gathering up all the stuff I need to make pho bun and spring rolls for the first time. We'll see. :lol:

Edit: I've only used smoked salmon when we make sushi, but I'm sure Kroger would carry something suitable. Or I could drive to the coast and buy stuff of the boats as they come in... Never have been able to convince myself that's a good idea.
