That sounds like a very interesting idea! You may have something there. Our humidity's high at the moment, I almost have the opposite issue at the moment.I have noticed that starting at dry hatch 30% seems a bit too dry this season. I have been starting at 40% to allow a slower air cell development.
You are right that this egg being upside-down has a smaller air cell. That is definitely interesting. If there is no issue, would this be an option for porous eggs? To incubate air cell down for the first week?
Incubating fat end down increases malpoes by a lot, I believe. That sounds like a very interesting idea! You may have something there. Our humidity's high at the moment, I almost have the opposite issue at the moment.
But incubating for the first week upside down would be a controllable way to incubate porous eggs with non porous eggs so they come in together at the right amount of air cell. I've had them in a container with a baggy loose over top. That would eliminate the extra fuss.![]()
Now your just ruining the idea. Pffft.Incubating fat end down increases malpoes by a lot, I believe.
