EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

PEOPLE AHHH.
This one sentence entirely sums up my point of view on the universe.

Yes, you should get it. I loved it, and I'd kill for those SLW and WL bantams shown in the video. Those birds are incredible. They're so well balanced in shape and perfect in colour...

Calling all opinions. I have been running two incubators side by side---a brinsea mini and a brinsea maxi. The mini was new, and I had two successful hatches in the maxi before. I candled around day 14 and noticed that the development of the embryos in the maxi seemed to be lagging behind the mini. I bought a back up probe thermometer and discovered the maxi was running 95.9 while it said 99.5 on the display. So, I can only guess, but maybe it had been running below temp for 2 weeks. I did adjust the temp upwards to compensate for the discrepancy and get the machine where it is supposed to be temp wise. All of my eggs in the mini hatched, but over the course of discovering the lower temps in the maxi, I also discovered 9 eggs had dead in shell embryos probably ranging from day 11 to day 18. Now, it's day 24 and I have no pips in the 5 remaining eggs. I can see movement in 2 of them, but not in the other 3 by candling. I did do the float test and they all floated just about 5% of the egg above the water line. I have put them back in the machine. What would you do? How long would you wait on them? Any advice would be appreciated.

What do the non-movers look like? Any sunken, hazy look to them?

I'd wait until they look ripe, but that's just me.

Yeah...2 Isbars and 1 Chocolate Orp look a little fuzzy. I have 1 Chocolate Orp & 1 White Polish that have perceptible movement. But they all did the same thing in the water.

I'll keep them going because I can't stand to pull the plug but it's making me crazy!!
