OMG really? why wouldnt you? sniffles I gotta run.... you and those that have my text can anytime, I told ya that, some of you do, and some do on FB MESSAnger, keep in touch I am fine with it, its on my cell and I get them when I can! I love being able to keep in touch one on one when I can in between!! I feel really bad when I cant read all this,, anyways I gotta run... kids are bugging over my shoulder ughhhh

I only have 9.
I'm managing to stay at around 50 birds total, but I need to downsize before hatching season next year. I'll be loading up the 'bator & then some.


If they weren't so pricey I would raise them for meat.

Buy eggs and hatch some. I started with four. And went down to a pair. A pair laying everyday adds up. Especially when many young are female.

Bet not. I'm selling a few tomorrow and hope to be down to 35--40 by winter.

You really think I'm gonna keep those beasts to maturity? I sold mine at POL, losing money in the process. I didn't care, I was DONE with them.

Hey, I farm. Our grain's not worth anything anyway. Might as well value add with the chickens. I get $3.75 for eggs...can I even get that per bushel for some of our grain??
Doesn't cost me 100 K for inputs like the crop does.

Just a few more months until winter, though. Can't wait.
Saw leaves turning the other day, but probably just a sick tree, sadly.... I can't wait for hockey games to start again and bugs to go away.
