Chainsaws are rated for hours of life. It lasted 2 years from not hardcore everyday use. If you used it everyday/all day, it would not have made it that far.
Domestic use chainsaws have an average life span of only 25 hours.

Not saying you're wrong, but every saw I've ever bought new has been used for several years; well in excess of 25 hours...Craftsman, Poulan, Stihl. We may spend several weekends a year felling & bucking trees, all with the same saws.
