She is gorgeous!! She & Coo definitely look related - the same brown & gray, just arranged differently. It's such a pretty combination! And I'm glad she's calmed down.

And we're really hoping Blondie is a girl, but we decided he/she will be sticking around either way until there are aggression or over-mating issues. Our cockerel Sue is gorgeous, but he's definitely more forceful, so if he ends up aggressive Blondie may become our only rooster.

We definitely have to compare the (taking forever to get here) eggs of Coo and Georgia. Im super curious if their eggs will resemble in color as much as they do!

5 weeks old yesterday. First time out of the run today for about 15 minutes this evening. 99.9% certain the little one to the far left is a cockerel.

I'm interested to know what hen and roo are used to make each color chick? I am currently crossing a lavender Ameraucana roo with RIR hens and was surprised all the chicks hatched out black!

anything bred to lavender chicks will be black in your case all your black chicks are now split to lavender

Yes lavender is a recessive dilution of black . So 1 copy lavender gene = black .

So it has been a few weeks and here is my update on all the chicks.

Wow! She favors my EE destiny alot, even though as chicks they look nothing alike! EE's are truly pot luck...love it!
