EE Pea Comb - boy or girl?

I'm a newbie. Wondering how can you tell?

Because we've spent far too much time on this board, looking at thousands of pictures of birds

Seriously, the color says the bird is female. There is an extensive thread around here somewhere telling about sexing easter eggers by color. Basically, an even, drabber color is female. Wild, splashy, splotchy, flashy patchy color is male. You look at enough pics and develop an eye for it.

I am a newbie as well, but had a EE roo I just had to rehome that was the same age as yours. I attached a picture. His coloring indicated a roo(red on shoulders), his legs were the size of tree trunks, his comb was way bigger than my girls and turning red faster and his body size was way bigger than my pullets. He also started crowing at 8 weeks!

So that made it really easy to sex him!

If the grey on is a girl - she's going to be in charge. I went out to the coop the other night and she was roosting up with the big girls. The little back one is up there because she only following the grey's lead. The big girls started pecking on grey to get off. She just tucked in her head down and took the pecking. She is a bold little one! The bottom picture is her roosting on the black EE. I think she may end up being my trouble maker!

also take a look at his coloring note the darker mahogany solid colored feathers on the wings and his back, that is a really good indicator of a cockerel as well

I think looking at all these pictures causes an increase in chicken math. "Oh! I want one of those....Oh! What a pretty bird...etc"
