I bought this EE from a local feed store. She was sold as a pullet because she bought from a hatchery as "sexed". Anyways today I kept thinking she had tail feathers coming in. She is 4 months old and doesn't crow. I just introduced her to my flock of older hens and she loves to challenge them. I wasn't sure if a cockerel would do that to hens. I need an expert opinion on if she's really a pullet! Thanks

I would say roo. I think I see the start of pointy hackle and saddle feathers coming in. Feed store chicks typically come from hatcheries and they only guarantee 90% accuracy on sexing. I think he's handsome, though!

hmm the colors look boyish to me... and I swear I can see some saddle feathers starting to grow near the base of the tail... plus the biggish comb for 4 months...

I vote roo

Thanks for all the help! I hope these pictures will help. These were taken with a flash so the colors are slightly different. He makes noises like a hen. . . I guess all the cockerels I had crowed early and I never heard them make many henish sounds.

yep... 100% roo!

Handsome fella, kinda looks like mine (pictured here at around 6 months old - he was sick for a long time so is slow to feather in)
