Egg Bound Hen Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

So yesterday one of my hens went to lay an egg when she came out she had not layed and egg the same thing happened today! She is definitively egg bound because she had an egg near coming out! What should I do!!!!!!!!!

some hens will go into the nest and not lay their egg. how long has it been since she laid last?

If you're actually SEEING or FEELING an egg that's stuck, you can give the hen a warm bath in the sink (think baby bath warm). That's supposed to help relax them enough to expel the egg. Dry her off after the bath, apply a little lube of some kind around (a bit inside too) her vent, and keep her in a warm, dim area (again - to help her relax). Hopefully that'll do it.

eta: but if you're not actually seeing or feeling an egg, then I wouldn't assume she's egg bound.

Ok I still don't understand the lubricant thing what should it be: like olive oil or what???

you can use regular water based lube or olive oil or almond oil

Olive oil might work. Vaseline is a good option.

Another good option for an egg-bound hen is to give her crushed up tums. Though I have never tried this, it is said to work.
