Egg Bound Hen...I think...what to do!?!?!

I will try to get all the info I can (and get it correctly lol) and report back!!!
It is very common for chickens who have or have had recently coccidiosis to get secondary crop infections.
I'm so glad you took her to the vet.
:highfive:

Ok so I got back from the ver and asked all sorts of questions she I will try to relay the info correctly :) if something sounds off I'm shes it is my retelling and not the vet because she was INCREDIBLE and reasonably priced!!!!!!! So I think I was a little confused about the corid issue. She had just asked me what I had treated the flock with when my other chicken was sick because there was air and a secondary infection in the intestons. We never really discussed whether she ever had the coccidiosis or not. She just knew I had been treating the entire flock. I asked what the strain of bacteria was and they said they just looked under a microscope to save me money rather than running a full culture. They said there are rod shaped bacteria and circular (more common). Chickaletta had rod shaped which are less common and harder to get rid of. So she gave her a higher antibiotic twice a day for 7 days. I brought her home and she sprintef back to her friends and had been free ranging ever since, so it seems to already be helping quite a bit!!!! Hopefully this was a bit clearer. I'm still learning :)

Thank!
What antibiotic did the vet send home with you and at what dosage?

I am so glad she is feeling better.
