Egg bound hen. PLEASE help?

Thank you for this information as I too have one hen that has been egg bound twice so far. Yesterday I just picked her up and hugged and pet her till she was calm. I thought she was depressed. My hubby said this morning there was an egg right where she was laying in the pen all looking sad. But the description on the link given above was accurate and that was exactly how my "Chip" was looking. All my girls are well feed and get plenty of calcium. I do notice however that she does get picked on and some of my R.I.R.'s won't let her in the nest boxes. Not sure why. She is quite precious. I will have to try the steam baths.
