egg has started zipping but hasnt made progress in hours

If the beak is pointed at you, they are in good form to hatch, maybe they just need some help.

Upside down head sounds normal.

there seems to be yolk/ yellow liquid leaking out where the chick is pipped, but they have moved just a little zip-wise and are working on it
im sorta concerned that the other 6 eggs in the incubator are not pipped at all when some hatched on day 20

Ok. Yellow liquid is sometimes a concern, but see how long she keeps working on her zip.

shes doing the chewing motion like shes still absorbing yolk but is more active than earlier

also two of the hatched chicks have one bent toe, but its not inhibiting their walking ability

Hmmm… usually they aren’t still trying to absorb yolk when they zip.

thats what i thought i think its having a little trouble but is doing okay so im just monitoring thanks for sticking around

its opening its mouth and flicking its tongue up and down, and sorta gasping

its shutting it its not big gasps but it looks like its swallowing/drinking? and then doing a mini yawn sort movement
