I may be able to get my vet involved, but the thing is that vets usually say to bring it to a vet! It has to be looked at at least....what is a vet gonna say?
If this was a disease that struck chickens like bumblefoot, we would know about it.
If its not bothering her, its probably OK to leave it...but she may die if its infection or the like. Thats 50-50.
If you want to save her for that 50% possibility that its infected (and it looks infected to me or like it may get pecked at some point) then it has to be explored.
The thing with staph infection, if thats what it is, like a bumblefoot situation up on the leg, is that it will proceed into the bone and then thats that.
If you want to send her to me, Ill do it...I can send you a box but you'll have to pay shipping. I ship chickens all the time and it shouldnt be a problem.
I can understand not wanting to get into staph when youre so late in your pregnancy...
is there a local vet who will look at it if DH will run it over there?
Let us know how its going....
Of course, you must protect your health and the baby's health over all, but maybe someone else can do this for you.

Fascinating.....but Andaloosa (OP) hasn't posted since the 8th.....and now its the 14th!

Perhaps a new baby has arrived? Lets all send our good thoughts and prayers that all is well with her and her baby.

I think we'll have to wait this one out for a bit....
