Are you going to try and lance it? If you do I would like to see or if you could explain how you did it if possible.

I too believe I would just cut a small hole and excise the thing.... stitch it up... with fish wire...

You could practice the surgery on a store bought chicken leg, might help to get to know what is supposed to be there.
