Ok all,
This is kind of freaky, and also may shed some light on my EE's Very Sporatic egg production lately.
As some of you had read in my last thread, https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=542570 ,
My EE's have not been regular in their egg production.

Then I had posted that they apparently got their stuff back in order, and we had collected a very odd shaped egg from one of them.
I described it as a "fat green torpedo" .

This morning, while cracking eggs for breakfast, my wife cracked that "torpedo" egg.

here is a link to a video, of what she found inside...

I hope the video worked for you all there, but here is also some regular pics...

So has anyone here ever seen a TRIPLE egg in egg in egg ???
and what do you think would cause this ?

is it a calcium deficency (sp?),
I also seem to remember reading that in the hotter summer days, the hens can lose calcium through panting ? is this correct?

Thanks for any thoughts, or experienced replies.

Ron

I recently had a double yolk egg inside a double yolk egg. When I broke the first egg open the first two yolks broke.

WOW !,.... Ok, you win ! LOL!
are you sure there is not an Emu running around in your coop ???

So can anyone tell me if the summer heat,
causes the hens to lose more calcium, due to panting ?

I've never really had to keep a constant supply of Oyster shell, for them to have well formed shells,...
but if they lose the calcium when panting, then maybe I should get some Oyster shell, to be sure.
