Sorry for another ignant question.....I now have all 8 of my pullets laying. When they free range every day, 3 are laying in a box on my carport (they found that spot before I knew they were going to lay) and the other 5 are going to the coop like they are supposed to do and laying in a corner box that is hard to get to but at least it's in the coop :) With the start of UGA football comes my every Saturday run to the games so they won't be free ranging on those days....question is: Since they have begun to lay on the carport and they can't get there will they lay in the coop or do they hold their eggs until they can get to "their" spot? Thanks in advance

They will begin to lay in the coop where they should. Some people don't let their hens free range until later in the morning to give them time to lay in their nesting boxes.
I tried that but even at 3 o'clock in the afternoon those 3 would run for the carport to see who could get there first. LOL

At least it's not a hidden nest that I can't find....yet :)
