Hey all I'm new to this and if not allowed please let me know I'm new to breeding and have Pakistani quails on lock down as of yesterday morning I've come home to find my son has candled them as they not moving or hatched but it's only day 16 and I'm worried now he has harmed them please help as I'm pulling my hair out with worry

Ronot1 thanks for the reply I hope so to its nail biting I'm so exciting to see them hatch ect.... will let u know how it goes in next couple of days fingers crossed

No harm was done most likely, especially if none have pipped then I doubt any harm was done at all, if some were pipped there is a chance they may have to re-pip if it sealed but mine have lived through it and always hatched they are very hardy little things.

Let us know!

Thanks for the reply well I've just checked on them about 30 min ago and one has started to pip yaaaay it wasn't there earlier but is now so fingers crossed all is well

Anywhere from a few hours to two days in some extreme cases I’ve had one wait 2 days on me lol but usually for me, 12 hours or so maybe a bit more maybe 18-24

Omg that long  it's like waiting for Christmas to come hahaha I'm so excited to see them in also have partridge egg in another incubator another 5 days and they will be on lock down don't think I can control myself hahaha I've been sat watching the pipped egg for the past hour can hear the little fella pecking at it gonna go and make myself busy for a while then go bed hopefully not wake up every hour to check hahaha :wee
