Egg pipped

ok I just did that and pulled back the membrane a bit and it’s little face was poking out the hole it had made but he’s just there. Not responding to anything. Should I let it be for a bit and see if he finishes hatching? Or did he just not make it and I should remove the egg?

I’m so sorry but it sounds like he didn’t make it but you won’t know for sure unless you open the egg. If I am wrong and you hit blood, stop. Hatching is hard from baby birds. You can’t tell from the outside how much energy they are using on the inside as they struggle to get free. Usually if they have air, they are ok, but not always. Sometimes they use up their reserves. :hugs

So sorry
If it still had yolk then there was nothing you could have done to help
Baby had air and would not have been ready to hatch yet.
We don’t always know why it just happens sometimes.
My heart hurts for you as this was a very special egg.
Do you have others from your girl that passed ?
