Beautiful! I'm hoping for a blue egg but at this point I don't care. I just want her to lay something - the waiting is driving me crazy. I've got another EE / Ameraucana that is supposed to be 2 weeks older (26 weeks) that I'm hoping isn't a rooster. No crowing - no eggs!![]()
maybe that one's a late bloomer? If you don't see any hackle or saddle feathers then she's not a he lol. I still have 2 that haven't laid yet. One a black copper marans and the other marans/brahma mix. I'm DYING to see those dark chocolate colored eggs lol. I had a feeling that Daisy would lay Blue eggs. I've heard that having slate/grey legs is usually a sign of a blue egg layer. My other 3 EEs have a greenish hue to their legs but hers are true grey.

I've been told it was a rooster for sure & it's a hen for sure so........Here's a pic I took yesterday.

Here's a pic of the one I've been waiting for. Just took this yesterday, also. She's so pretty! She has ear muffs & a beard - the other one (Lightning) only has the ear muffs.

they are both beautifulI'm going to say that is a hen. I tried to find Daisy to look at her and compare but she was off somewhere in thneighbors yard lol. The feathers near her tail are nowhere near as long and pointy as my roos and I don't see any obvious spur bumps so I think your safe
two of my EEs have the muffs and beards but the other two don't really. I still love them though
I need to get some new pics so I can post them lol
I really hope it's a hen.I can't have roosters here & I've already had to give up my favorite chicken - my other EE (my avatar). I cried for weeks!
I knew he was a rooster - he was crowing at 5 1/2 weeks!
Well, I had a double-yolker breakfast this morning!! YAY!That's great! I'm almost thinking that my big egg from today just might be one, too. But since I work Wed/Thurs I'll have to wait til Friday morning to break into mine!!![]()
