Egg Song! Glorious Egg Song!

I fried them over easy in butter just like a chicken egg and they were delicious, stronger tasting than a chicken egg but thy have very rich dark yolks that tasted great. This was 20 years ago but they were great.

how would you cook them for breakfast? I've read they don't fry well. Is that also scrambled?

The same way I like chicken eggs, over easy in butter. I never had a problem frying them and they were always top notch. Although I can't remember, I am sure I am scrambled some and don't remember any problems.

Congrats!!!! I took pictures and texted sooo many people when my girls laid their first egg...you woulda thought it was a newborn baby that arrived...LOL

Woooaaaa!!! I would probably have that many if I had room for them!!! Hubby says were are gonna need to move to farm country soon if I keep it up!!!!

James 40 I know what you mean. We started with 12 last spring and now have 84. They are great entertainers and provide us nice fresh eggs. Wouldn't trade them for anything.

I like to just stand/sit in the run or coop and listen. They squawk (a happy squawk) when I come out the backdoor and cross the yard towards them. Once I'm there, they "purr", in a chicken way, and climb all over me. I could stay there for hours and hours. I often do. I have a young RIR that I'm thinking might be a roo and he's very vocal. No crowing yet but he/she chatters up a storm. I can remember when I first got them, when they were only days old, I commented to my husband that the dogs haven't left the side of the brooder since they got there. My husband said "Neither have you.".

I am in LOVE with Bantams!!!! They are pets for me

I hatch chicks, ducks and quails in my classroom and have always had a hard time parting with them. Well...I hatched my first 2 Bantams(purely by accident as I didn't know what type of eggs I was given to hatch "farm mix???'LOL)Both Cochins and they were soo sweet! Loved to be held, followed me around. So I looked into what it would take to keep them(THANK GOODNESS for this forum) and now have had them for a year!!!! I had to rehome one because he was a rooster and got a Bantam Silkie instead! My girl Peep keeps going broody so I think I may look into Bantam Cochin eggs for her to hatch! I love just chilling outside and watching them
