Egg Song! Glorious Egg Song!

I have a question for everyone here....do your ladies normally sing their egg song AFTER they lay an egg? Because one of my barred rocks sings first and THEN gets down to the business of egg laying. I thought she wouldn't sing until after. She's kind of daffy lol.

ive heard of them singing before and after and even chickens singing the song for other chickens lol

So Ella laid my first egg on the ground instead of up in the nest box inside the tractor.... I know she is familiar with the tractor because she was in it when I bought it... any idea why this might be or how I could change it if she continues to do so

I have one that sings ONLY if she has company. The duets are pretty cool!

Awww how awesome.... i need to rearrange some things i think my two older girls are seperate right now but i think they might enjoy each others company maybe thenthey will start talking some so far neither of them makes any noise at all

I hope this isn't too off color. I am told that Astrid, our best layer who only sings duets, will sometimes sing a version of the egg song just before she takes a big poop.

Three eggs so far today! Florence just left us a 49.2 gram beauty.

BTW... I have 3 nest boxes for 6 hens. I assumed they would all use the same 1 or 2. So far they are using ALL 3 and Nellie uses her own feral nest near the coop but outside of it. That's 4 hens laying,in 4 different nests!

It's a treat to hear it. My BR lays 1 egg a day. Others that are same age are not laying yet, still waiting.

I thought my BR would lay first bc she has the biggest and brightest comb n waddles... But she didn't.... My BO and I think 1 of my BA's are just starting... My wellie is real red but nothing from her either.
