Egg stealing

We recently got four fertile eggs for one of my Broody hens to hatch and something has been stealing them. Two went missing and after our chicks hatched last night (in the middle of the night) one is now gone. The doors are locked at night and their is chicken wire on the window. The only thing I can think of is something is opening the top to the nest box. It’s about 2-3 feet off the ground though. No mess left behind just eggs and chick gone with out a trace. We live in Austin TX and I am at a loss. Any ideas on what could be doing this?

I agree, you have a snake,,
My GF is still trying to figure out how a snake came flying through her open bedroom window landing in the floor late one night. THUMP!
My answer is it climbed the tree and jumped in.
You can try to bait a minnow trap with an egg or three. The snake will find its way in but not out. Then dispose of it,,,,

could it be another chicken? Mine just started laying eggs a couple days ago and my husband was outside and noticed Lala laying an egg, he was so excited, then boom, Wanderer jumped on it and ate it....ugh
