I wanted to post this but couldnt find a category. Thought this might help.I am just doing this myself an cannot attest to the storage and life of the eggs yet, but it's an old homestead method. I wanted to store my eggs for long term and came upon a homesteader on youtube for storing eggs with pickling lime.Should I keep my eggs in the fridge or on the counter?
So what you do is...(hopefully I didnt miss anything. research before you try)
dont wash the eggs. Use only clean eggs with no poop on them.
Use a container with a lid, plastic or glass. Measure an ounce of pickeling lime per quart of distilled water. Mix. The lime will settle. Add clean eggs every day until the container is full. I only filled the container halfway with liquid. The storage life is 8 months+. Store in an even temperature pantry (not hot ).(look up the temp) Another tip...if an egg floats it's bad!
You can find this method on youtube.
